Stubborn belly fat is an issue for many men and women in Tampa.  This type of fat is often resistant to both diet and exercise so even people that are in good physical shape can often carry extra weight around the abdominal area.  This can be frustrating for those that hit the gym on a regular basis or those that eat only a low calorie diet.  In the past, the only way to reduce belly fat has been through surgical means – either reduce-belly-fatliposuction or a tummy tuck.  However, there is now new technology that can help reduce belly fat without surgery and without any downtime.

Why Belly Fat is so Difficult to Remove?

There are people of all ages that struggle to get rid of the extra fat that gathers in the abdominal area.  Some spend hours in the gym striving to burn off the excess, while others try diet after diet to lose the weight.  However, it is difficult to reach the persistent fat that accumulates around the waist.  This is because many of the fat cells in this area were created at birth or during puberty as a way to store fat in case of famine.  These cells may grow larger or smaller in response to the amount of calories consumed or burned off but the total number of fat cells will remain the same.  With passing years, it gets harder to shrink these cells so it is common to find most people over 30 have either love handles or a muffin top that bulges over jeans or makes wearing a bathing suit uncomfortable.

What are the Solutions to Removing Belly Fat?

In order to trim up the abdominal area, many have resorted to different surgical solutions.  In several cases, these surgical options can rid the body of the extra fat cells but there is always a risk of complication as a result of these invasive measures.  A tummy tuck (or abdominoplasty) is a major operation in which a surgeon cuts the lower part of the abdomen in order to remove excess fat and skin.  Once the extra weight is surgically removed, then the skin is tightened over the stomach and the excess is then trimmed away.  The patient’s belly is then stitched back together and once healed, will look thinner than prior to the operation.  The downside is that there is often a long recovery time following this surgery in order to heal properly.  This surgery can leave a noticeable scar which defeats the purpose of having the surgery done to look better in a bathing suit.

Liposuction is another option that is slightly less intrusive but carries many risks.  With liposuction, a doctor makes small incisions and inserts a hollow tube (called a cannula) to suction out the fat tissue.  This procedure vacuums out both fat cells as well as healthy cells but does help to reduce the overall belly fat in the treated area.  The incisions are then closed with stitches and many patients experience soreness, swelling, pain or burning for up to ten day s following the procedure.  The complications that are often minor but infections, fluid accumulation, permanent damage to nerve endings and other major issues can arise as a result of liposuction.  In rare cases, death following surgery has been reported.

New Way to Remove Belly Fat without Surgery

In 2005, a new technology was discovered that uses Cryolipolysis to destroy fat cells without harming any other cells in the process.  Crypolipolysis is the science behind the Coolsculpting equipment that was developed and trademarked by Zeliq Aesthetics.  Coolsculpting was specifically designed to target and cool only fat cells underneath the skin such as belly fat – literally freezing them to the point of elimination!  By only freezing and killing the fat cells, the healthy skin cells remain untouched and healthy!  No knives, no suction hoses, no needles, no scars!  Once crystallized, your fat cells die and are naturally eliminated which will leave the treated area noticeably thinner.

If you would like to learn more about the Coolsculpting procedure and determine if it is right for you, please contact the Jasin Facial and Body Rejuvenation Institute in Tampa Fl.  The Jasin Institute is a fully accredited medical facility under the direction of Dr. Dominic M.
